Another case of "well it's new to the library, and it looks like a comic, so I shall therefore read it" (Anne, Jeff, you know what I'm talking about.) I give this a solid: Get this review and more at:

The artwork is really cool... but that's about it. I won't be reading another one of these.

I loved it. The art is great the story is exciting and perfectly compacted for the Graphic novel format. It has ZOMBIES!!! The only problem is the same problem that the Nikki Heat books have. You could easily change the lead characters names to Castle and Beckett without losing any of the story. I understand that this is what draws in the fans of the TV Show but seriously Rick Castle must be a horrible writer if all he can come up with are the same two characters for every novel. OR since castle I loved it. The art is great the story is exciting and perfectly compacted for the Graphic novel format. It has ZOMBIES!!! OR since castle isn't real, should I be applauding the many writers that can fluidly write all of these books in the same style and voice? But then again it could still be one writer writing as Richard Castle. Which would effectively make him Richard Castle which would mean that it's all true.

Derrick Storm is hired to investigate the brutal slaying of someone's daughter, the latest in a line of similar killings. Great adventure(s) ensues. Thoroughly enjoyable fun read of CastleDerrick Storm. Good story "adaptation", though I feel a little more depth could have been added. Good artwork, very clear - made me feel like I was there. But I'm not sure I would appreciate being surrounded by goons with guns. Recommended.

You can really feel the difference a changed author (even ghost-writing author) makes to the series - the whole world and experience feels very different from the previous volumes I've read, and unfortunately it wasn't a change for the better. It feels less grounded, and ends up being less fun. The humor is lost in exchange for heavier supernatural-hinting elements. It's okay, but definitely not the best of the adaptations.

The last two were better, but this one was ok. It has the very intriguing New Orleans voodoo zombies, but I was disappointed in the ending: it suddenly just jumped to the conclusion without any lead-in, nor any clues leading to the direction it took. (I'm staying vague to avoid spoilers, my apologies).

A quick and enjoyable read, especially if you're a Castle fan. I like Cullen's story well enough, and it's easy to follow, but I liked Bendis & Kelly Sue's stories better, the first two in this series. This was better than the third one, though, if I recall correctly. 3.5 stars.

The fourth installment in a series is not the place to suddenly introduce a heretofore un-hinted at supernatural element.

Goofy, but fun. I was entertained.

The story was meh, but I absolutely love the concept - writing the fictional stories that a fictional writer writes on a fictional TV show.
